The Sandton Times Brochure Mockup

Introduction

This project is STRICTLY STUDENT WORK, created as part of a structured collaborative assignment designed to simulate a real-world branding environment. The focus of the project was to work as a team to interpret a professional brief, develop a cohesive creative direction, and execute solutions that aligned with the brand's strategic and visual requirements.

Client Brief

This project is STRICTLY STUDENT WORK completed for the client, The Sandton Times, a luxury-focused multimedia platform seeking to evolve from a niche lifestyle blog into the leading authoritative voice on affluent urban living in Sandton.

The brief required us to understand the brand's ambition to expand its reach, elevate engagement, and strengthen its credibility while navigating challenges such as maintaining editorial integrity and differentiating itself in a competitive digital space.

Strategy & Design Direction

Our strategy centred on positioning The Sandton Times as the definitive digital authority on Sandton's luxury lifestyle. Our design direction focused on creating a cohesive, premium, and hyper-local brand experience that blends Sandton's dual identity of corporate ambition and aspirational lifestyle with authenticity.

My Contribution

In this group project, I collaborated closely with our UX and UI designers to develop a cohesive and visually engaging brochure. My primary contribution involved creating all the 3D mockups entirely from scratch using Blender.

Because the brochure followed a unique flip-style design, every visual element had to be specially crafted for this format, requiring original modelling, rendering, and visual direction. I created 20 mockups to represent the different colour themes assigned to each month of the campaign (e.g., pink for arts, green for fine dining, etc.).
